Is Regulation in Crypto Actually an Opportunity?

A single global currency that is decentralized, and not beholden to any governing central body, might not be possible.

At least that's what you'll hear/read/ingest/ignore if you turned on the internet today.

Too many nations, (Such as China and Thailand) have put their foot down in terms of implementing crypto into their economies. While others like El Salvador and Tanzania are working to embrace crypto with open arms, albeit in slightly different ways.

One of the biggest points is fraud and criminality. A deregulated decentralized digital currency cannot exist without the obvious ...

How I Was Robbed of 199,298 Syscoin Tokens

On March 2, 2021, I was robbed of 199,298 syscoin tokens from my Syscoin QT 4.1.3 Desktop Wallet while seeking technical help on Discord during a wallet back-up. I have been buying and accumulating syscoin since 2017. I added a large amount in April 2020 when the price had dipped to 3 cents. As I type this piece, Coingecko tells me my stash would have been worth $83,705 today. Life-changing money that would’ve gone a long way in funding my spouse’s AML chemotherapy. More than my yearly oilfield wages.

How Could I Be So Stupid?

Should You Be Using Your ADA to Buy Coffee?

ADA

Hey everyone—Erick here—I read a comment on a Reddit thread and it sparked my thinking mind, way too early, so I decided to share some of my thoughts on the future of Cardano and ADA. The comment was along the lines of, "I would never use my ADA to buy a Coffee," and I think this logic is flawed. Well specifically, the never part; granted, now isn't the time but the future should be.

As early investors, we would all love to see ADA go to $100-thousand-million-über-dollars, but it isn't realistic and, in my opinion, shouldn't ...

reserve currency

Gold has been the world's standard reserve currency for hundreds of years. Even as the world has moved to fiat currency, governments and investors alike still look to gold as a reliable alternative. On Tuesday, August 11, gold experienced its largest one-day drop in seven years. Prices per ounce fell by 4.7% between Monday and Tuesday, bringing them down from above $2,000 to $1,932.28. This recent drop isn't the only problem that the precious metal has on ...

Bitcoin Halving: How the Miners are Faring So Far

Bitcoin halving

On May 11, 2020, Bitcoin successfully executed its third block reward halving. Bitcoin halving events usually occur every four years, and the first and the second events took place in 2012 and 2016, respectively. Since miners’ rewards for verifying blockchain transactions are usually trimmed by 50% following a halving event, past events have forced miners to adopt numerous changes to cater for the drops in profitability. What about the recent halving event? How have things unfolded for miners this time around?

Mining Inefficiencies

One obvious impact of a halving event is the reduced revenues miners receive. ...
